First Timer’s Guide to Hot Yoga

Welcome to CoreWorx Hot Yoga — We’re So Glad You’re Here!

Trying hot yoga for the first time? Amazing choice! Here’s everything you need to know to feel confident, prepared, and ready to sweat with purpose.

  • Yoga Mat – We recommend a non-slip mat. Rentals available if needed.

  • Large Towel – You'll sweat (a lot). A towel for your mat or body is essential. Available to rent at the studio.

  • Water Bottle – Hydrate before, during, and after class. Refillable is best.

  • Light, Breathable Clothing – Think moisture-wicking and minimal; shorts and a tank or sports bra work great.

  • Hydrate Ahead of Time – Drink plenty of water throughout the day before class.

  • Arrive Early – Give yourself 10–15 minutes to check in, get settled, and relax before the heat kicks in.

  • Eat Light – A small snack 1–2 hours before class is ideal. Avoid heavy meals.

  • Let Us Know You’re New – Our instructors are here to support you! Let them know it's your first time so they can offer guidance and modifications.

  • Yes, It’s Hot — That’s the Point! The heat helps loosen muscles, boost circulation, and deepen your practice.

  • Take Breaks When You Need To — Child’s pose is always an option. Listen to your body and rest if needed.

  • Focus on Your Breath Breath control will help you stay grounded, even when it gets intense.

  • Stay in the Room
    If possible, stay inside for the full class—even if you're just sitting or lying down. It helps your body adjust to the heat over time.

  • Rehydrate – Drink water or an electrolyte drink to replenish fluids.

  • Cool Down – Give yourself a few moments to rest and stretch.

  • Shower & Change – Refresh and change in our comfortable shower and changing rooms.

  • Come Back Soon! —The first few classes can be challenging, but it gets easier — and more rewarding — with consistency.
